Manydown FAQ

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, as planning authority, consulted on the Manydown application earlier this year. This included a response provided by the Parish Council following a meeting with interested residents. The Manydown project team has reviewed the comments that were made in that consultation and published answers to frequently asked questions to give further information or explanation on the website at www.manydownbasingstoke.co.uk/frequently-asked-questions

Further discussion is now taking place with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council as the planning authority, as well as relevant statutory consultees. Updated information will be submitted to the planning authority and it is expected there will be a further planning consultation during autumn 2017 to seek feedback on this updated information.

Fireworks Cancelled

The Parish Council has made the difficult decision not to hold a Fireworks event this year. We spent considerable time trying to organise the event.

Rooksdown Firework event was designed for the benefit of the Rooksdown community and its’ residents.

However, putting on such a popular event brings with it significant organisational & logistical challenges … particularly, how to get residents and visitors in and out of Rooksdown safely (which has been illustrated in the comments in this Facebook thread already). There was also a distinct lack of any volunteers from the community to help make this a safe and enjoyable event for all.

The Parish Council realises this will be a huge disappointment to residents but would like to thank residents for their continued support.
