COUNCILLOR VACANCIES

Rooksdown Parish Council has three vacancies for Parish Councillors which the Council is planning to fill by co-option.

The procedure for co-opting a parish councillor is that any person interested should give their names to the Parish Clerk, Karen Ross or their names can be submitted on their behalf by existing Councillors.

All such persons should request an application form from the clerk and submit it to the Parish Clerk by 19th September 2016 either by email to or by post to PO Box 6949, Basingstoke, Hants, RG24 4WJ

Councillors need to be available to attend the Parish Meeting on 26th September 2016.

Allotments

Rooksdown Parish Council will be assuming responsibility of the Allotments at Merton Rise although there is no date for the handover as yet.

The Parish Council is currently compiling a waiting list.

M3 Junction 6 Black Dam Improvement – full weekend closure 5-8 February

The Black Dam Roundabout will be fully closed from 10pm Friday 5 February to 5am Monday 8 February.  During this period, all approaches to the roundabout will be closed with clearly signed diversion routes in place. 

This closure will allow all surfacing work to be completed, along with signals, signs, safety barriers and road markings. 

  • A339 north and southbound
    (Diversion via A339 Ringway North and A340 Ringway West)
  • A30 London Road east and westbound
    (Diversions via M3, or B3349 and A33 for non-motorway traffic only)
  • A30 Ringway South east and westbound*
    (Diversion via A339 Ringway North and A340 Ringway West)
  • M3 Spur north* and southbound
    (Diversions via M3, or B3349 and A33 for non-motorway traffic only)

Please allow extra time for journeys while this work takes place.

*one lane will be open on the M3 Spur northbound to the A30 Ringway South westbound between 6am and 9pm on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February

Rooksdown Speed Watch

Rooksdown has a Community Speed Watch group to help embed the 20 mile an hour speed limit which came into force in 2015, for the safety & benefit of all Rooksdown residents.
